Kitchen Ideas
Pictures and ideas for the kitchen/dining room remodel. I tried to make notes on each one so you know why I picked it.

I think this is exactly how Jeff is envisioning the island/peninsula. The counter hides some of his mess and enables people to hang out. Kind of why I think we'll have to move the front door.

Might be a nice way to hide some of the gear on the coffee/wine station?

I LOVE this idea - having a paper storage area near the kitchen. Would make my life so much easier.

Kind of interesting thought to use cabinetry to connect the rooms.

this is pleasing.

the counter is busy, but the style of counter is great. love the handles on the cabinets.

Kind of funky and busy, but starting to think more about how to incorporate the dining room into the kitchen.

Liked this for the cabinetry and also for the archway leading into the other room. That might work as the door into the playroom.
Q

Thinking about how to incorporate the rest of the dining room now.

I like this type of island where the working area is hidden from view by a counter. I also think this looks nice with dark hardwood, which we might find under our current floors.

Mint island, checkerboard flooring, great lights. I love a lot about this.

Maybe this is an idea that we can use over the coffee area instead of cabinets? I am just wondering if too much cabinetry will look heavy. That said, I worry about earthquakes too so this might not be a good idea.

I like how tidy the island is. Also, I seem to be really liking the use of color on the island as a way to pop it in the house.
Q

A little more farmhouse than Arts & Crafts, but I love the sideboard and I like how the cabinets look.
Q

I like the countertop, the blue island, the structure of the island and even the cabinets. Backsplash, curtains are way too busy, and I would not use/buy those chairs. :)
Q

I like the idea of having one side of the island include a bookshelf.

I think everything about this looks fresh. I like the backsplash, and the glass cabinet doors don't make them look so heavy. I wonder if this would be good over the coffee/wine area?
Q

I wonder if a bookcase like this could work? Or, might cut off the room too much. Again, loving this green color.
Q
Photo
Not sure the fifties style handles would work but I am still loving this mint green color.
Q
Photo
this style would fit in with the living room aesthetics.
Q
Photo
A little too modern for our house but another example of kitchen blending into living room.
Q
Photo
seems like something we might face in our remodel though this is a lot bigger.
Q

Could work to improve our galley kitchen.

I like the organization options that seem to make use of a lot of often empty space.
