This looks like an operational shade, but would make it a stationary valance in your home - straight across the top, not arched.
The simple shaping softens the look while remaining tailored.
Could have fewer pleats, but I like the little shaping at the end and the trim at the lower edge.
This is a mock-roman shade, does not move but has the look of a Roman.
A little softer look without being frilly. The bead trim is fun, but could be a tassle, fringe, or flat trim. The knobs to mount at the top softens the look too.
Simple and tailored, looking at the valances to the left on the bay window, the one over the sink in this shot is too plain (and needs a nice lining!!)
The rod would not work over your sink (no room for the finials) but could be mounted on knobs as seen earlier. This one has welt at the top and lower edge.
Another tailored look but with banding at the hem.
I like this mock Roman even better than the earlier one!
A different shape with tassel(?) trim at the hem. A few more pleats here.
