'Fess Up: Are you a book hoarder? While I'll pass along novels I enjoy to friends and encourage them to pass them on from there, I hoard design tomes like the Edies, from "Grey Gardens" hoarded cat food tins. One great solution for storing a lot of books in an attractive way without taking up much space is a vertical stacking bookshelf. It only takes up a 14" x 14" area of floor space yet provides room for up to 70 books. Take a look at all of the different ways designers are using them.

You may be asking, "What do I need the shelf for? I can just make these stacks of books without it!" While true, this can create a teetering hazard, and and practically speaking, actually pulling out one of the books can be a huge pain.
