Many people like vintage-style interiors because they are light, airy and unfussy. For some, this look gives their home a touch of romance. And for others, it takes them back to a simpler place in time. With a vintage look you'll often see a combination of whites and off-whites (which provides that light and airy feel), but you can also incorporate pops of color into this style to create a look that is unexpected and personal to you.

Denise Vilim Not sure if it has an official name, but I love that 1950's light green-with-a-hint-of-blue color. It's similar to the tile color in the first photo, but with more blue and more muted.

dirtysock Many of the homes up here in western PA built between 1930-1960 still have that same bathroom in image 1. It looks cool in that little picture, but in person its atrocious lol. I have remodeled two of them - one blue and one pink. I will say they are well made and built to last.

benfield4 Our first home a 1953 vintage brick rancher had a bathroom similar to picture 1. Mint green with the black border but they were plastic and falling off the wall. So it all ended up being taken down. The look was cool but it was dated and with other previous updates to the bathroom did not fit in. My grandparents had a similar look to that but with thick pink ceramic tiles and a black border. It was amazing that that tile being of 1950's vintage was still in great shape when they passed on in 1993. I do wonder how long that tile would have lasted.

mainstreetschool We just bought a 1932 brick, full of tile. The kitchen servants hallway are teal ceramic with black trim. All bathrooms are such unusual colors that I am having trouble finding towels to go with the colors. The entire first floor is colorful tile. It is a challenge, but I am trying to maintain as much of the vintage fixtures and decorating around the tile. The pedestal sinks are just like some seen in Houzz. Loving it

lynne217 I love this yellowish color (started with a shade from Restoration Hardware and then added a hint of brown/amber glaze to it) and use variations of it in most of the first floor rooms of my 1930's cottage type home.

Suzanne Topham OMG! The bathroom photo at the top is the image of the one in my great-grandmother's Tudor-style house, built in 1929. To me it's like seeing a ghost. What a perfect expression of that style.
