Feeling the need to re-decorate but don't have much of a budget? There are lots of creative ways to mix up, invigorate, and renew your space without breaking the bank.
When working with a tight budget it's best to try to incorporate as many as your existing furniture pieces as possible. A new look can be created by painting, re-purposing, or re-covering furniture pieces. New life can be given to tired sofas with slipcovers, or layers of textiles and pillows.
Take a fresh look at your space and focus on the positive attributes of the room. Work on enhancing these, and downplaying or changing the areas that don't work quite as well.
Slipcovers are a faithful friend, always there to rescue you when the times get tough. Need a new sofa, but can't afford one? Measure your sofa length and width and look for a standard slipcover in the closest size in a neutral color.
Drapery panels in standard sizes are affordable and can bring softness and pattern into a room. If the height of your windows falls between two sizes, simply buy the longer drapes and have your local dry cleaner hem them to fall an inch or two above the floor.
