Fortunately for Reynolds, the finishings inside the condo by Townline Developments were to his liking. He didn't have to touch the kitchen, bathrooms or tile floors.
The wood bar stools in the kitchen were imported from Italy.
Above the bar outside is a bronze piece called Bear Panel by Beau Dick.
With plants, an outdoor fireplace, furniture and lighting added, the rooftop became an enviable, fully livable outdoor space, rain or shine. Reynolds says, "Even though I am surrounded by high-rises, when you are sitting in front of the fireplace on the roof, it seems very private."
Reynolds told himself that this renovation would be it for awhile, but just last week, he started to discuss a new project with his contractor. The plan is to tear off the front of his gallery and rebuild it, giving it a modern edge. "I think the modern facade I have in mind will make an impact to the South Granville area of Vancouver," Reynolds says, "and will tie into the modern artwork I carry and juxtapose the historic."
