When most people think of daybeds, they picture a twin bed with a back and sides, outfitted with lots of pillows to make them comfortable for seating. There are lots of other styles available that look more like pieces of furniture, and many are still suitable for sleeping. Let's take a look at some stylishly versatile daybeds that work well in many living spaces:

daybed: an armless couch; a seat by day and a bed by night
chaise longue: a long chair; for reclining
I believe that the top picture is truly a daybed while the bottom picture is a chaise. Most of the other pictures qualify as couches...which are not to be confused with sofas. :-)
