Create Interest Underfoot with a Strip of Contrasting Color
If you are at a loss for what to do for your next tile floor design, how about incorporating a coordinating or contrasting accent border? It is an easy way to add interest and style, and it gives your floor a finished appearance. Although there is some overlap with tile rugs, borders generally go around the perimeter of a tiled area, and the tile inside the border is the same as the outside.
Here is a tiled entry leading into a grand living area. The creamy marble tile framed with a dark brown border invites you in to admire the magnificent ocean view. The jog in the corners points you in the right direction.
Here, a simple gray linear border frames a white marble floor in a luxurious bath. Notice how it follows the lines of the walls and windows.
