Wall-mounted toilets aren't the only ones that work well as a design element. This model sits on the floor, but its simple cylindrical shape gives it the look of a stool. This bathroom does have a niche just for the toilet, but the style of the toilet and the pretty mirror elevate it to the status of a throne room. Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.
In this open wet-room-style bathroom, the custom tile behind the toilet creates a strong focal point for the room.
The matte black color of this toilet and bidet is perfect against the matte black-tile accent wall.
...would worry about those toilets that hang on the wall anywhere!
Laurel -- I think Mr. Popper's Penguins could relate to the bit about falling in. LOL! Great picture! Some of the square toilets have an inner edge to the seat that is square, while others have a more posterior-friendly round shape on the inner edge. The toilet the penguin is cavorting in is from Duravit's Vero collection. It looks like the shape of the inner edge of the seat wouldn't be too bad. The ones where the inside edge follows the square line of the outer edge would definitely feel a little weird and would take some getting used to.
Give me a toilet with a tank. They are the simplest mechanism to figure out and so easy to maintain yourself if it's running or something. I hate swanky design that is so 'cutting edge' no one but a professional can fix it when it malfunctions.
