Gone are the days of going to one store and buying a bedroom or living room set. Thankfully. While fully matching pieces can create a wonderful classic continuity and period vibe, some of the most beautiful (and simultaneously liveable) spaces are pulling in things from all over the place.
Much as our culture today has been globalized and offers the best of what is around in the entire world, rooms are reflecting the eclectic spirit. While some rooms assemble mixed pieces with a more boldly bohemian flare, the most classic and refined spaces are putting various pieces together into a cohesive whole. We can experience the wonderful process of putting together into one living space pieces from our various life experiences, creating a continuity in our living spaces that reflect the continuity of our experiences.

Shannon Sadler This is one of my favorite idea books yet. I love mixing different things to get very unique looks. I never want a room to look as though I tried to duplicate something I saw in a magazine. Love it!
