I'm not sure if you're feeling it quite yet in your neck of the woods, but where I live, spring has sprung. Trees are beginning to bloom, the sun is shining and the hardware stores are pulling out the seed packets and planting supplies. All this gets me in the mood to plan our garden and prepare for the growing season.

One important thing worth mentioning is to be sure to AVOID treated lumber for vegetable raised beds. You don't want your food absorbing the chemicals of treated wood. There's also the matter relating to which direction the long side of the bed should running - has something to do with maximizing sun exposure, but I can't recall the rule at the moment. Maybe someone else who knows will chime in.
I really like the little four-square raised beds - do you happen to know the sizes? Below are more ideas. Happy gardening!
ps - edited to add that it is March 13th in Seattle and it is SNOWING right now. Geesh!
