Sometimes we get comments regarding modern photo styling. They say that the houses aren't realistic and don't look lived in, and that there's no way a family . On the one hand, who wants to look at your toilet plunger in a bathroom shot? On the other, who wants to live in a sterile box?
What's a modern designer to do? If you throw your kid with one perfect fire truck toy into the shot, you have a high risk of winding up on the Unhappy Hipsters blog. If you clutter the place up, it looks terrible.
Photo stylists have found the solution: Without leaving a chew toy or stray cat hair behind, they've added fluffy pets. Sometimes they are in action, sometimes they are lounging around, showing how comfortable a rug or a stool is. As long as you keep cats off the counters and have Zoila or Roomba around, try getting Fido to strike a pose in your next interiors shot.
