Like many people, I sometimes think about the bathroom I'd love to have someday. Until now, this dream has never involved a layout with the bath in the center of the space. It never even crossed my mind until I began seeing shot after shot of this concept on Houzz.
It seems this setup is usually configured one of two ways: The tub is placed either between two vanities to create a separation and clear walkways to the sinks or smack dab in the middle of the room for dramatic effect. Either way, the look adds definite style and a sense of luxury.

Plus, if you share your bathroom, the tub in this layout almost acts as a room divider, giving each person a sense of individual space. | Taking advantage of views is another reason why designers will place the tub in the middle of the room. Sure, you could put the tub against the wall, but why not the center of the room if that’s the best vantage point? |

If you have a narrow bathroom, a tub between the vanities may provide a better footpath than if the tub were against the wall.

Perhaps your bathroom is already equipped with a shower, but you long for a tub. If your space is large enough, you may be able to avoid a larger renovation by sticking the tub in the center.

lyvia Another reason to consider sinks on either side with a center tub is a center fireplace between the sinks. It makes an awesome retreat!

Fine Art & Portraits by Laurel I live in a small country, with correspondingly small architecture, so I can only sigh with admiration over these delicious bathrooms. I enjoyed a B & B in Edinbourough, where I had such a bathroom, and luxuriated every night like a mermaid in that tub.

tramone Personally I do not at all get these tubs. I am trying to figure out a way to enclose my tub so the air around stays nice and warm when I am in there. These just seems like while the water will be warm any part of you out of water would be just to .... not warm! But that's just personal preference!
