Studio Dearborn Custom Kitchen Cabinetry: Unique Storage Solutions
Here are some unique storage ideas that help maximize the utility of every inch of cabinet space. Many (but not all) of these images are from our own projects.
Shallow drawers can be customized with any kind of tray or divider. This large silverware tray is stained to match the rift sawn oak cabinetry.

This drawer was custom designed to hold water bottles in a 25" wide base cabinet. The dividers are adjustable, and the depth was designed to accommodate tall water bottles.

This drawer was designed to hold bar glassware, and adjustable dividers keep glasses from tipping or touching each other.
Custom depth pullout trays in a 24" wide cabinet. These drawers are 5" deep on the top, 10" deep on the bottom, and were designed specifically to hold plastic ware.

Spice and oils storage can be found in pullouts flanking the range hood.

This 24" wide double waste drawer can hold two waste cans, a paper towel roll and a small drawer for towels. An extra slot can hold a box of plastic bags.

This is a nice arrangement of under cabinet pullouts for the sink, by Handy Dan Repairman. These pullouts are added later, after plumbing and disposals have been placed.

For kitchens with limited wall cabinetry, dish drawers are a convenient solution, and also give children easy access to dishware.
This custom base cabinet under the Wolf rangetop has two drawers for cookware, and two pullouts for cooking utensils on the side.
Tray storage over the microwave is a very efficient use of high, deep storage over standard oven cabinetry.
