DESIGN YOUR HOME
double island and open walls
bath with corner windows
great idea! feels like two sinks, but less real estate/plumbing
corner sink - makes sense
space underneath cabinet - easier to sluice-wash floor, and could house nightlighting
round edges in bathroom avoid sleepy bumps in the darkness
I like the trough sink idea
one wetroom rather than separate shower and tub, or shower over tub
great way to think about the big story - look at sun trajectory, and views
use the roof!
use a more complicated finish/paper at the back of a small room
open cabinets/shelves in kitchen - don't have to have doors on everything - REALLY good idea this, in particular if you have a lot of guests who need to find things in an unfamiliar kitchen
kitchen plus living room. note bar effect under the island
this is a very good idea. custom island with a bar counter, raised to keep some non-visible space
raised counter at the island provides a visual break when looking at the kitchen
alternative to an island
workzones: eg (important!) put dishwasher next to sink
double level island station, eating bar and prep area
think about width of working spaces - 42" is narrow, 52" starts to feel too wide
side lighting, not top lighting, for bathroom mirror
guest-use toilet needs less light - should be more relaxing than functional
goodlighting over bath for reading etc BUT on dimmer for mood lighting. mirrors make good use of light without it being direct
ooh! glass bath! funkyyyy
nice! built in desk with view
would love to be able to do this with the furoba...
great idea - put the bathroom around the shower!
don't use nasty textured glass, use stained glass!
clever - open shower using glass wall
cool! strip of colour - nice design idea
great use of two strong colours
old bike as art
feature wall - could do this with dramatic tile feature too
kitchen counter heights 36' and counter 42"
good wall art :)
make a wall covering from a single photo (cf the wittenham photo)
don't forget the stairs
could do this with a bicycle frame
ethanol fireplace... research this!
don;'t forget to think about flooring
nice alternative to an island - work-height table with appropriate chairs.
working height narrower table, alternative to an island
not the color etc, but the design is perfect. It's a table, right height for food prep, with higher chairs to match, but with some storage built in
really great compromise. proper table, but island-like storage and working height
possible to reuse one or more of the current stainless steel units?
sums it up!
