Derviss Design I've always been attracted to herringbone and a basketweave pattern. One thing that I think is very important to mention is the mortar color can make or break a good brick laying job. Too white and it becomes just too jarring. below is photo of a older ( pre-digital age ) brick job we did using a variety of brick colors and a granite paver inlay . It was dried lay so there is no mortar involved. Also a more recent project using bluestone and brick combined. The mortar is a light tan.
