There is a cafe in San Francisco that has a full shelf of different coffee pots on display behind the counter. Until I saw that display, I hadn't realized just how great this particular product could be for adding a unique type of decor to a room. Of course, most people don't have a collection of coffee makers but you might want to think about yours as more than just a functional item; it can be a part of your home's decorations as well.

When choosing a coffee maker, you should ask yourself if you want it to stand out or blend in. If you have a very simple, uncluttered kitchen area (or wherever you place your coffee pot) then you might want a bold coffee maker to create an interesting conversation piece for the room. If you have a cluttered kitchen then one that blends in would be a better choice.

Of course, you want to choose function over form here (unless you don't drink coffee and it's solely going to be a decorative piece). Find a coffee maker that has all of the features that you desire but also consider whether or not it adds to the design of your home.
