Guest Picks: Decorative Tableware to Be Thankful For
Reap gratitude from the whole family by setting out these thoughtful place cards, decorations and more for Thanksgiving
Now that we're well into fall, it's time to think about hibernating inside, baking pies and watching the leaves turn. And Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I just love setting and decorating a beautiful table for Thanksgiving. For many it's the one time of year when family and friends come together to enjoy a meal, talk about the year they've had and reflect on what they are thankful for. Having simple yet classic decor always helps set that kind of mood. Here are a few of my favorite pieces this year that are not only appealing to adults, but fun for kids. With three kids myself, I know that it's important for them to be included in the Thanksgiving celebration. Happy harvest and Thanksgiving, everyone! — Christine from Everyday Mama
Sarah Campbell Turkey
These modern turkeys won't leave you overwhelmed with feathers and beaks on the table. They're simple yet still decorative.
Norpro Davy Crack It Squirrel Nutcracker
This little cutie next to a bowl of nuts would make for a nice appetizer presentation.
Wooden Bark Charger
This wooden bark charger will remind everyone of eating off real wood tables in the forest, like the Pilgrims did. It's a classic way to set the table.
Shanna Murray Coasters
If you have a smaller table, try a wooden coaster with a sweet message instead of the wooden chargers. You'll get the same effect, but less space is needed.
Rattan Charger
If you are going to do Thanksgiving with paper plates (yes, it does happen), these chargers are a great way to class them up. Plus, this way guests will be able to eat from wherever they may be seated, even from the couch while watching football.
Linen Satin Stitch Dinner Napkins, Set of 4
Instead of paper napkins, go classic (and green!) with pretty monogrammed linen napkins.
Turkey Custom Cocktail Napkins
If you're having a party this Thanksgiving, why not go all out and get custom napkins printed? These are so chic.
Staub Pumpkin Covered Casserole
Anything that comes out of this pumpkin casserole dish will taste so much better. This is how to serve in style.
Martha Stewart Collection Serveware, Park Leaves Gold Collection
These gorgeous pieces from the Martha Stewart Collection at Macy's are perfect for serving a Thanksgiving meal.
Decorative Cheese Leaves
Add an extra presentation element to your dishes, especially cheese and meat platters, with these pretty parchment leaves.
Twig Cornucopia
This cornucopia can be filled with fruits and veggies, flowers or mini pumpkins for a traditional harvest centerpiece.
Fall Leaves Tiny Taper Holders
Sometimes smaller is better. I love these tiny taper holders, because with so much food going on the table, there isn't always room for a big centerpiece.
Turkey Rosette Centerpiece Kit
I love the idea of getting the kids involved to make the table decor. Here's a kit for a turkey rosette centerpiece.
Make your own owl place cards with this easy kit. The kids will love helping you with them.
Kraft Paper Rolls
This may seem like nothing, but rolling out kraft paper as a tablecloth and putting pens and crayons at each place setting is a fun way to get everyone involved in being thankful on Thanksgiving. Write questions at each place for conversations starters, or have each person write down one thing he or she is thankful for.
Faux Antler Candelabra
This faux antler candelabra is one of my favorite pieces for a harvest table setting.
Thanksgiving Tree Centerpiece
A "thankful" tree as a centerpiece is a great family tradition to start if you haven't done so already.
Thanksgiving Treat Holder Set
Good things come in small packages. Stuff these pumpkins with popcorn, chocolates or a little prize for each of your guests.
Threshold 2-Tier Server, Coral
A tiered server is a great way to maximize table and counter space. They're perfect for desserts, cheese and crackers, or even bread and are a pretty way to serve your guests.
Shanna Murray Recipe Pie Dish
No one gets the recipe for your pie until it's all gone! This is a great hostess gift too.
