Paisley fabrics and animal prints have a definite way of making a room feel warm and inviting. The warm, pumpkin-colored walls say fall in a big way. Could you see yourself spending your fall and winter evenings reading in this beautiful space?

This room immediately came to mind when I thought of creating spaces high on the cozy scale. The leather sofa, the beautiful rug and the rock fireplace—they all pull you in. The arrangement of the furniture encourages you to stay a while, sipping your hot cider by the fire and sharing your day.

Cozy doesn't always have to mean small. This room is quite large, yet it feels warm and inviting due to the rich fabrics, a gorgeous rug and wonderful lighting. Lighting is very important for creating cozy interiors.

Red and green always say cozy. Tapestry pillows and touches of whimsy like the "Good Boy" and "Bad Boy" pillows add to the room's charm.
Wish I had the room for a kitchen like the French country one you've highlighted.
Great idea book. Thanks for putting it together for us.
Happyplace...You are so right...would really encourage your children to read, too...such a wonderful place to curl up! :)
I think paneled rooms are warm on their own with only furniture and then when you clutter it with too many things it becomes stuffy instead of warm. That room with all those antlers all over the walls was horrible. Sorry, I can't imagine relaxing with all those pointy things all over the place.
Thanks, great post.
