Maddock Construction Company is a culmination of two generations dedicated to the art of fine custom home building and remodeling. The company has built and remodeled some of the finest custom homes from the North Shore to Barrington to the lakes area in Southern Wisconsin.
Larry Maddock, the company’s principle, possesses a passion for building and remodeling fine custom homes and has an innate talent for creating unique details in each project. From European influenced architecture to traditional American architecture, Larry Maddock has an appreciation and understanding of varying forms of design.
Only elite craftsman and artisans are selected to work on Maddock Construction Company’s projects. With the long-term working relationships the company has developed over the years, these experts have come to respect and understand the high standards that are expected from them.
If architectural drawings are required, Maddock Construction Company will work with clients and an associated design firm to develop drawings. The company will then provide the client with a Fixed Contract or a Cost Plus Contract. Once contracted to perform the work, each client is given a detailed construction schedule and selection guide which depicts when each selection must be made by. The client is then walked through the selection process by either working directly with Larry Maddock, or through the assistance of an associate designer or supplier of the company.

Residential Remodel
Originally built in 1973, this Sycamore Canyon home had modern bones but lacked refinement. The major challenge for both the architect and builder was taking this small house; preserving its modest sensibility and making it feel grander than it was, then coming back almost surgically and giving it the craft and elegance it never had. The key sustainability goal for the project was to keep the home’s footprint small, while embracing the beauty and solitude of the site’s landscape. The client’s remodeling dreams were achieved with only 300 sq. ft. of space added to the original structure. Realizing this metamorphosis took careful planning and exact delivery. The result is a beautiful home perfect for the client. (Architect: Brett Ettinger)

Residential Remodel
This whole house remodel rejuvenated a 110 year old, historic home. Lacking an adequate foundation and more than a century of use and abuse, the original floors throughout the home undulated significantly. These conditions created the need for an extensive structural remodel. Another major goal was to restore the Arts and Crafts design created by well-known Santa Barbara architect Francis Wilson at the turn of the century. Existing windows and French doors were restored or replaced. New, wide-planked oak floors were installed and hand distressed, fitting the home’s age and original design. The original kitchen received all new cabinets, countertops, and appliances. New French doors added abundant natural light and created a connection to the extensive outdoor patios and gardens. A new stone fireplace was added in the master bathroom, duplicating the four existing fireplaces in other parts of the house that were refurbished. (Architect: Sorrell Design)
