Some of these photos aren’t anything I’d actually use, but there’s an aspect that appeals to the “flavor” I hope to create. Some are all about color, some about “atmosphere.” It’s a small room, only 13 x 14.5, created out of what was an “open concept” in an ordinary ranch style house. I’m lucky to have heart pine plank subfloors which I plan to stain “oak.” Because the rooms are cut off from the pets, I’ve created arched doorways from foyer to living room, and living room to dining room. And both walls and ceiling will be the same color to minimize the low (7’3") ceilings.
