Houzz is the new way to design your home.
Exterior / Pools / Verandahs
Like: the mix of different materials; lots of glass; the lack of surface/perimeter flatness i.e. the layered edges/perimeter of the building.
Like: the over-hanging roof; the folding doors and wide doorway; the open plan interior; the easy flow to indoor/outdoor living. Love the fire trough. Love the inside to outside serving counter/hatch on the left. Click on this photo & access the other 28 photos of this house ...nice ideas.
Like: the façade ...has a nice feel..
Like: the mix of different material; the lack of surface/perimeter flatness i.e. the layered edges/perimeter of the building. However is a bit closed in and boxy ... prefer the lighter feel and extensive glass in photo 1.
Like: the mix of different materials, the wood particularly; the big glass panes.
Like: the mix of different materials; the asymmetrical angles; the colour. Love the quirkiness. Glass panes too small. Access the other photos of this house ...quite a clever design (has several levels) on a steep slope.
Like: the simplicity, all the big panes of glass; the over-hanging roof.
Like: the honest wood & raw cement mix; the unexpected roofing.
Like: the monotone; the openness; the wide doorways.
Like: the mix of different materials (especially the iron/metal); the integration of the different levels. Love the entrance steps.
A little closed looking. But like the rusticness.
Like all the glass and the wood together but wood too polished looking.
A bit too odd and windows too small but is interesting. Like its quirkiness.
Love this entrance. Love the metal & the industrial, functional vibe
Like the industrial look. Otherwise a bit too barnish with inadequate inside to outside flow.
Like the 3D hanging arm (probably not practical for us?) Like the all-glass wall.
Would be nothing special without the addition of the angled brick centre section ..and the good colours.
Like: the interesting, varied façade. Love: the water right near the house (...but don't think possible for our house?)
Love: the stone and wood mix.
Like: all the wood and glass. Love: the wrap around decks and the pool so close to the house.
We surf so a nice outside shower is a must ...but would want an outside shower this enclosed
Aesthetically, we were sure we wanted a rectangular pool surrounded by wooden decking ...now think a mix of material on one side might be more interesting. Think a bench/seating area right at the pool perimeter. Pool must be wide enough to have water polo goal posts on one short end. Pool must be deep.
Like : the lighting.
Think its the mix of material all monotone that is nice ...needs a touch of zany colour and more glass.
Like the use of mosaic.
Love lots about his pool: the shape & size; the mosaic 'built-up' wall on one side; the wooden decking; the mix of building materials in the surrounds; the poolside seating area.
Like this simple outside bar.
An infinity edge is nice .... if affordable? Nice lighting. Don't like tiles around an entire pool ...on one edge/perimeter max.
Like: the front edge of this pool; like the rocks incorporated.
Like this pool with great side lighting close to the house. Could have a bit of mix to the wood decking somewhere / on one side ...wood decking looks a bit too expansive/boring.
Like this pool and its mixed material surrounds. Nice having the garden/greenery close to at least one side of the pool. Don't like the building at the end.
Like some mosaic in a pool.
More interesting when the pool is surrounded/edged in more that one material. Different levels nice, like the little wall on the far side ...also good to bounce a water polo ball off.
Good pool shape and surrounds.
Love a covered verandah. Am guessing we will have fair amount of decking around the house and to the pool. Think a good section of the decking near the house must have a roof of sorts.
Like the easy to outside.
Only like the outside/verandah fireplace in this photo ...love to have one somewhere.
Nice lounging spot ...around the pool perhaps?
Not so keen on heavy wooden railing around a deck ...prefer something lighter, simpler.
Like: the mix of materials; the iron/metal; the ivy.
Nice having a zone to lounge by a fire and a spot to eat outside
Like this outside shower. Michael, have you seen our existing outside shower ....not sure if we should just upgrade it or move it or add a second outside shower?
One section of built-in seating where the building design lends to it can be nice.
Lots is nice: the mix of building materials, the overhanging roof; the big glass panes; the wood storage; the fire pit.
Like hanging chairs, if the building design lends to otherwise seems contrived.
Like: the lighting; the cosy corner created.
Love this. Awesome: curved shelter/roofing; fireplace; plating incorporated.
Like doors that allow a wide doorway ... for the front corner of our house?
Interesting facade created with the wooden slats.
Love the raw cement. Softened nicely by the wood. Like the combination together.
