Butler's signature Midwest modern style brightens bedding, curtains, wallpaper, rugs and much more
I am a Brooklyn-based writer, who writes about all sorts of DIY ventures like cooking, crafts and decorating. When I'm not on assignment, I can be found dreaming up projects for my home, which I chronicle in my blog The Little House in the City (thelittlehouseinthecityblog.com).

Amy Butler designs colorful, playful patterns that adorn everything from fabric to wallpaper to scrapbook paper. The core of Butler's business is fabrics and sewing patterns, but over the years she has licensed her designs, so that they are now available for many parts of the home.
Fans of Butler's designs love her fun patterns, which range from abstractions to '70s-style florals to 19th-century-inspired motifs. All of Butler's designs are offered in a unique palette that often features fresh, surprising color combinations (think mustard yellow with a soft blue-gray). The photographs collected here all feature Amy Butler's designs, so go ahead and explore her colorful world.

Graham & Brown's description of Butler's Temple Tulips prints: "kind of William Morris on ecstasy." We're not sure what Morris, who designed in the 19th century, would say to that, but we couldn't agree more.
