The older I get the more I am drawn to things of my past and the more I try to incorporate them into my present. The art of knitting was one of the first crafts my mother introduced me to as a child, partially to occupy my time as a chatty, curious little girl and to also help me appreciate the work of my hands.
I was in grade school the last time I held a pair of knitting needles; viewing these spaces featuring cable knitted toss pillows and throws takes me back to that simpler time. Funny how one image can flood your mind with the sweetest memories and cause you to frantically search for more to keep those happy feelings alive.
Whereas I was once knitting scarves for myself and clothes for my dolls, my interest has now turned to knit accessories for the home. I'm grateful for this ideabook and for yet another opportunity to enjoy knitting — this time in my home's decor.

The basic black wool throw still finds a place in this modern, gender-neutral bedroom. The black throw, wallpaper, and toss pillow perfectly balance the energetic yellow duvet.

Slipcover your favorite chair in a hand-knitted sweater of its own. I can't imagine the time it would take to complete something this beautiful, but you can always purchase one here.

Erika, here's a way to get this effect: Take a large, old wool sweater and wash it in the machine on hot with some old towels of a similar color. This will 'felt' it, meaning the stitches will shrink up next to one another and lock together. After it dries, you can use it like yard goods -- cut it up and make whatever sort of pillows you want!
