Ideas for Nim
Keep it simple....
More parterres and round boxwoods
To the extent there are any trees in the courtyard, would prefer something that stays green all year - that area needs to look pretty much the same all year. Also like this style fountain, but add crown jets around the edge?
The non-courtyard side (we refer to it as the "east lawn") needs to have more than just grass. Not necessarily another fountain, but something. That area shows a lot from in the house.
Some azaleas back in the lawn/tree area might be nice (white/GG Gerbing) - we have tons of azaleas and deer at our current house, and the deer do not eat them.
Not sure if these trees are Southern wax myrtles, but that is an idea for something that will not lose its leaves in winter, will not get too big in a contained space, and can be limbed up to look like a small tree.
We have also had good luck with arborvitae (no hostas - deer LOVE the hostas).
East lawn needs something more interesting than just grass.
