Principles of design - Tori Crowell
Balance - this is symmetrical because of the storage spaces on the top and bottom.
Balance - This room is symmetrical because the same exact thing is on both sides
Balance - The table in this picture is Asymmetrical because everything is the same except for the lamp on one side and the plant with candle sticks on the other but they both equal out and have the same weight.
Unity - This room uses the same colors and also pattern for the curtains and pillows
Proportion/scale - everything in this room fits the size and nothing is too small or too big.
Scale - Everything in this room, sink, handles, counter tops, shower head, and toilet, all scale at a normal size to a person and nothing in this room is too big or too small for it.
Rythm - This room has a good color scheme only using blue and white with a little bit of neutral colors
Emphasis - This room is emphasizing on the fireplace. There are 2 shelves on either side smaller than the fire place and it is surrounded in stone, making it pop out.
Rhythm- This bathroom uses a variety of squares and rectangles on the mirrors and counters.
Rhythm- This room uses only blue and white with splashes of neutral colors
Unity - This room is all based on a beach theme and has the same colors throughout the room
Unity - This room is all darker neutral colors and is all stone, wood and leather.
Emphasis - This rooms focal point is the fire place because the stone is exaggerated by going all the way to the ceiling instead of only lasting another foot.
Rhythm - The back wall uses the same colors in a certain pattern
Emphasis - This rooms focal point are the windows because they are the only things in the room that are the color orange and they draw my eye straight to them.
Proportion/scale - This bathroom is scaled perfectly because they are just the right height and the mirror above is just the right size to go above it.
