| This townhouse is in a part of Georgetown filled with similar smaller homes. The rest of the house was designed in a very traditional American style, much like the other historic homes nearby. In the new space, custom cabinetry blends with the rest of the home's elegant interior design. A Calacatta gold marble slab was used for the surrounding counters, while teak was used for the island. | A light color palette, simple upholstery and refined textiles allow the kitchen, dining and living spaces to flow smoothly. "In this case, one room serves as the kitchen, eating and living space for the entire family," says Sutton. The kitchen "is completely integrated into the architecture of the house," says Sutton. It is ironic that the figures on the kitchen counter are the type that were dressed as saints and used in religious parades.
That might offend someone too.
You can't please everyone and as long as the home owners are fine with the choice of art, who are we to complain?
