Angles above windows allow more light into room. Can we do this?
bed at angle in room is interesting. Note this room looks a little dark.
Can we do something like this under the skylight in our bedroom? Great light for reading.
Cornice and long drapes make windows appear larger, brighter. Soft colors. Always love a peacock!
Recessed windowseat with storage is nice - I loke the wy the cornice has been built out around the bed.
? Is Ghary right about gasfire in bedroom? This looks very inviting...
Bench on the end of the bed is a terrific idea - always looks good, and useful, too. Long, pretty drapes allow you to keep room neutral but still add soft color.
What about the chair rail? It looks fresh, pretty, and is in keeping with the style of the rest of the house. It could also tie into the bathroom.
It is true. We do need a long chaise lounge, couch or slouchy piece of furniture, not just chairs...
Built ins are very nice - keep it looking clean and stylish!
Beautififul chandelier - crazy, but it says it's a 6 arm Camilla chandelier from Pottery Barn. Another post says someone got it from FaucetDirect.com
This is a mirror with a mirrored frame - Nieman Marcus $599 - looks like a doorway with a really cool threshhold
Built-in bookcase with TV on top is a great idea - near seating area. Very pleasant.
This is a second photo of the previous bedroom, but look at the way that there is a little separation in the wall to demarcate the sleeping area from the sitting room. A good idea. Also, a too much fancy moulding.
Shiny white ceiling to reflect light is a good idea. Especially since it will be peaked like this.
Wall behind bed leads to dressing room - walk in closet w/built-ins, dressing table - very nice - could walk through to bathroom. Looks like a room, not a closet.
Same house, view from head of bed. Not a large room, but they have demarcated the living area using partial walls and soffets. Good idea.
This actually looks like a combination closet/office. I like it. Like the rug, too.
Note here trim on half-wall/soffet demarcating space is painted to match existing trim, makes it more separate also.
Nice arched doorway - looks good with moulding - should we be doing this?
Something like this for 2nd floor hallway?
? built-in bookcases?
? A nice arch separates bedroom and sitting room - ? makes it look enclosed/dark?
? recessed bookcase and fireplace in bedroom?
built-ins w/TV looks pretty nice, sitting area near window also nice.
Sectional with bookcases could be good on the 3rd floor.
See sectional area through doorway - this could be good on 3rd floor - this is another view of the previous picture.
This is a similar idea to what Roger speced out - an enclosed, defined sitting area, with a door at an angle. Could be good.
This is a very attractive setup we could do - sitting area defined, low, built-in bookcases, door leading to dressing room, gas stove against exterior wall, maybe TV at foot of bed?
White fan, ceiling, may be best
Dark blue w/white contrast actually looks fantastic - ? not enough windows in our bedroom for this?
window seat which is recessed and has back support (this is essential) is pretty good. Also like built in book cases on either side.
Interesting way to separate living areas - bed backs onto built-in bookcase
I like the recessed bed with mirror behind it - so cool.
Low bookcases around room not a bad idea.
Here bedroom open to dressing room. ?looks okay?
Sitting room separated from bedroom good idea. Better than just chairs in the BR (makes it look like a hotel a little).
Interesting use of drapes to create separate area.
Ideas for windows - looks cool having window at peak as well as larger one below - should we do that?
