Houzz is the new way to design your home.
The look and feel for the den should be bright, comfortable, and charming. Think: woodsy, bringing the outdoors inside. I want to create a bench that will extend the length of the west wall below the large window. The bench will have olive green velvet cushions, and serve as storage as well as housing for additional footstool seating. IKEA birdcage fabric will be used to create the curtains, so the room colors will match with the fabric's yellows, greens, blues, and maybe red-orange. This will be the future home of my Audubon-esque framed bird prints, house plants, brown/neutral decor, (such as the pine cone prints,) and an all around comfy lounge/videogame/movie area. Since the sliding doors to the backyard will not be sealed up for the addition of a utility room in the corner, we will have to create some kind of room divider so that the washer/dryer will be separated from the rest of the room. The wood dividers in the examples below would be a great addition. I like the idea of suspended terrariums, whether from the wall or ceiling, and if the wallspace allows, I'd like to set up some book cases in the area as well.
Clear glass. Outdoors indoors.
Green Velvet; colors that match curtain fabric.
Fluffy, inviting cushions.
Awesome room separating idea for laundry room/den.
Deer pillow paired with velvet. Outdoors indoors.
Salvaged wood wall. Extend to create divider?
