While walking through my local garden center the other day, I was struck by the beauty of succulents. The colors and textures of the plants are so diverse and stunning that it's easy to see why many people have embraced their use indoors in terrariums. If you've already tried your hand at indoor succulent gardening, now's the time to take your skills outdoors.
One of the obvious benefits of gardening with succulents is that, unlike many other plants, they thrive on neglect. Given adequate light, occasional watering and a bit of fertilizer in the spring, your succulent garden will flourish whether you have a green thumb or not. Plus, the potential to grow these hardy plants in wooden crates, tin cans and on the wall will bring an entirely new level of creativity to your outdoor space.
