Kitchen Ideas
No! Look at reviews: not ceramic, just stickers on front of wood.
Search, also, in Houzz for hidden bookcases and other staircase storage pics.
Conservative, for my tastes, but I do like the contrasting upper and lower cabinets. Plus I think we should think about breakfast nook vs. island seating--it's probably one or the other.
Beadboard!! Should think about selective deployment throughout house. Interesting how here it is on top half of room instead of bottom.
Cute endcap, nothing else. Good place to keep kid-level cups although ours will be bigger by then. Also coffee mugs. Even plates--very convenient to stove and dishwasher, in the case of our kitchen.
What's not to like?
Don't like the kitchen much at all but the idea of a curved top on the island is very cool. Could create 4 person seating this way...
Another curved island top. And beadboard.
Ours, except for the colors, could look a lot like this. Subway tile, deep sink, mix of old and new. Even the brushed pewter (or whatever) stools work for me.
Don't like the kitchen at all, but the curved extension of the island is cool.
Cool elements. Take a look at the house--all pale blues, yellows, whites. WAY too formal and put together for me, but still, cool elements, like the stand-alone in the kitchen.
Another variation on that theme.
Yet another.
under stair storage.
Very fun.
In Montreal! Wonder how the slightly elevated top works, re access and comfort?
Love this idea but of course we never flip ours down, and so many crumbs get caught in the moveable parts...
Another in Montreal! See wall-mounted microwave and rest of home.
Another idea--not just an extension of the top (which is probably what we'll do, anyway) but, as was intended with my parents' place, something that abuts it.
A bit conservative for my tastes, but the main thing I like is the wraparound aspect. When there are 4 or more of us eating together, we always move to the dining room. So perhaps we just do seating for 3? Or perhaps that will change if we have the option?
between stud shelves
Stairs are also drawers - how difficult is that?
Cabinets and tile both relate to ideas for our kitchen
Love any and all pull out spice racks, but trompe l'oeil makes this one even better.
trompe l'oeil spice racks. turns out they're everywhere! nice location by stove
trompe l'oeil spice rack. nice location beside stove.
blends of old and new
my colors exactly!
appliance garage. don't like anything else about it.
great alternative to lazy susan, right? although i always love a lazy susan.
could be great as a way to sort spoons--baking vs. non, etc.
this is great--what about butcher block counter or island with built in knife storage? though i've heard knife blocks can become petri dishes--investigate?
i like the quote 'unfolding like origami'
Efficient, visible from both sides.
So great for baking sheets and grocery bags.
Love having appliances stored where they are used right away but where they also can be hidden. How to do this without using up counter space?
Always love floating shelves but we might need better dishes.
Will kitchen cabinetry can echo what we have in the living room? Can this work for shoe storage? I love the shelf.
In so many ways--colours, beadboard, open-ish island, this could be perfect for us.
Beautiful and rustic looking, but melamine! Perfect compromise for us. We could get these for our regular and company use.
More melamine from the same line. Just setting it down. Makes me optimistic that we could even have open or clear cabinets, if we were to get dishes like these.
This whole house looks a little too much like ours wants to look. Anyway, the bookshelves are cool.
tiny banquette. the article is right--there's something very cozy about a banquette.
cute, clean, easy
another small and cozy banquette.
