I recently purchased a faceted garden stool for my living room. I surprised even myself with this choice. I had always thought of faceted designs as rather gimmicky. But now I'm fascinated with these jewel-like pieces and am enjoying their versatility and elegance. When you dig deeper, you can find original faceted furnishings, lighting and textiles that are like works of art in their own right. | These accordion cabinets are works of art. I love the contrast of the unfinished wood with the thoughtful design. Wouldn't these be great in a Scandinavian-style kitchen? Or a midcentury dining room? Or a spacious bathroom? OK, pretty much anywhere. |
This unfinished wood is laid diagonally to create a beautifully-constructed coffee table with cutouts for storage and seating. I can imagine my kids would love this as a play table, although I'm sure it's intended for a much more grown-up space.

I've had these lights in my ideabook for months. They have so much to love about them. Hand-carved chunks of wood replace traditional crystal chandelier drops, while the red cables add a surprise element. The cables come in other colors too.

I considered this light fixture for my kitchen when I renovated. Although the heavy texture probably wouldn't suit the purpose (I'm sure it would harbor grease from cooking) the design is eye-catching. I love that it looks like sugar cubes — sweetness and light!
