- Door frame – mitered door vs. conventional 5-piece door?
- Sink cabinet -- drawer vs. door?
- Fridge cabinet -- depth? Fake panel for larger opening in the future?
- Outlet locations?
- Spice pullout to the left of the range?
- Tray pullout to the right of the range, and mitten drawer?
- Cutting board pullout to the left of the microwave?
Like the overall feel and look.
Want to have a simple, plank style desk for tea/coffee, and reading.
Want to have some freestanding pieces in the kitchen so we don't have to be locked into one particular layout.
Like this vent hood. It's Vent-A-Hood JCH / A1.
BlueStar 30" RNB range.
Like the pot rack against the wall, and the open shelves.
Like these open wood shelves with metal bracket support. Could we use similar brackets to support the island overhang?
Mug hooks under open shelf! Efficient use of space. Could have two rows of mug hooks under one shelf.
Full overlay wall and base cabinets.
Full overlay, simple shaker cabinets. Not too traditional, not too contemporary, which is great.
Inset wall cabinets, and full overlay base cabinets. Used trim pieces to make end panels cheaper (and nicer). It looks great!
Really like these quarter sawn oak cabinets (color & style) with soapstone countertop, light flooring, and light wall color.
Like the tiger maple island, and the soapstone countertop & sink.
Like these natural hickory cabinets and hardware. Here the hickory doesn't have too much color variation because they used the highest grade of wood.
Another view of the kitchen with natural hickory cabinets and soapstone countertop. The end panel is nice.
Like the soapstone and maple island (custom stain).
Maybe natural maple cabinets? Shown with oak floor, granite countertop.
Like heavily distressed finish.
Might be nice to have one section of the countertop lower than the rest, so that Fen can put a 2" thick cutting board in this low section and end up with a 34" cutting surface...
Cabinet crown molding, hardware.
Like curved island shape. More interesting than a rectangular island.
Like kidney-shaped island.
Like the kidney / piano shaped island.
Like this kidney-shaped island.
This island is really cool!
This island is nice. If we raise the microwave section in the island by 6", it could be kind of like this.
Lowered prep area.
Lowered prep area.
Microwave shelf with garage door. The door opens upward and retracts to the top (inside) of the shelf.
This pull out cutting table is ingenious!
Support for island overhang -- here they used corbels with a (decorative?) apron.
Island countertop support -- Either a metal framework under the entire countertop or metal brackets that are routed into the plywood top and installed on the inside of a pony wall then all is wrapped with wood panels."
Don't like these legs in the island.
24"W spice drawer that holds 110 3oz bottles (10 x 11 rows). We don't need so many jars...20 jars would probably be more than enough.
