Vessel Sinks? In or Out.
Elza B. Design, Inc.
The Vessel Sink. Some designers hate it. Simply hate it. I have to say, I like them when used in moderation and IF they are scaled properly and of the right shape. In general, I prefer a lower, rectangular vessel sink. They are easier to clean and just more user friendly. However, sometimes a bowl shaped sink, if large enough and not too high, can be simply stunning, such as the chiseled granite vessel sink, pictured in the bathroom below, designed by James Patrick Walters. You also want to make sure the sink has a large enough counter top surface to position toiletries and accessories. If not, the area will feel cramped.
