Houzz is the new way to design your home.
Nice combo of some contemporary elements and traditional
Interesting cabinet color
stainless steel appliance with the copper lights is interesting
I'm not sure if I love them or hate them. Brian thinks they're springs from a semi truck.
Wood island top
rounded end of island
I like the horse picture.
What type of cabinetry is this?
a narrow fireplace flanked by narrow windows
dark cabinets and the dark floor look good here with the light countertop and walls.
I like the wooden island tops I've been seeing.
a 2-level island is interesting.
Another barn door example
This herringbone floor is interesting.
I like the medium floor with a lot of variation.
I picture my basement living area to be about this size. I love the colors.
lighted porch columns?
I like the light fixture.
Nice medium dark cabinets.
The cabinets and floor are similar to my Volga house, but they have a different look here.
The butcher block island looks nice in this photo.
Another wooden island top
I like the piece that is suspended from the ceiling.
I want to avoid a boring look like this.
Again, warning to myself not to get too boring.
Maybe I should consider a light countertop.
The countertop is a slice of a tree trunk.
I hate to admit that I like the dark cabinetry.
I think I see a porch with poles but no fence. I like that.
I like the shape of the rectangular windows.
I like the windows on the left, and wonder if the large window arrangement on the right would work.
I love the way the two roof lines come together, but I doubt it'll work for me.
If a fence on the porch is a good idea, can it match the stair rail that I have in the kitchen?
The pillars are pretty new, but I'm a little tired of htem already. I like the porch with no fence.
This is a duplicate. I can see my house in a similar style. I really prefer the more contemporary ones, but for the farm, is this a better way to go?
Here's a porch without a front fence.
I don't expect to sit on the porch much since it will overlook tractors and a cattle lot. So maybe a pergola top would be more affordable that a complete roof.
Here's a nice look and feel. Not too contemporary.
