This is The Milwaukee Art Museum's Windhover Hall. Isn't it heavenly? Aren't these the perfect chairs? I'll include another image that shows more of the Calatrava architecture later.
Interior Designer Rachel Reider proved that this chair can mix with a bold floral wallpaper, a drum pendant, and a leather banquette when she chose the Globus for The Veranda House Inn on Nantucket. What ties all of these seemingly disparate elements together? Curves and a bit of mediation by crisp white table linens.
The Globus is also an excellent choice for a desk chair. It has a waterfall seat, and the molded shape was designed for maximum comfort.
This room plays with the contrast between cool concrete and warm wood; the contrast between the warm brown backs and seats versus the cold chrome of the chairs makes them a playful pick for this contemporary space.
I began this ideabook with an image of Windhover Hall and I'm ending it with one. Now that you are more familiar with the Globus Chair's shape, you can see why it was chosen to complement this soaring and curved architecture. The cut-out in the back of the chair relates so well to the spectacular curved opening which lets in the natural light.
Doesn't the thought of a cabin on a lake in Wisconsin and a visit to the Milwaukee Museum of Art sound like a good summer trip idea?
