When interior designer Amy Dragoo married the love of her life in 2007, she and her husband arrived at the marriage with two design aesthetics. He had cultivated a more Mid-Century Modern, handsome, clean-lined aesthetic, while she wanted a curated home with a blend of vintage and new. Luckily, they purchased a new space in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood which allowed them to keep some of its 1890s tradition and update it with a clean, modern palette.
The result is a layered and refined mix of collections, art and decorative items that reflect both personalities. During our chat, Dragoo made a statement I believe will change the way I decorate my current home. She stated, "I prefer not to walk into a room and pinpoint when it was decorated. I'm particularly drawn to pieces that are difficult to place in history." If you too love this concept, you will also fall head over heels with the forthcoming images. | A decorating mainstay throughout the house, the vintage posters are now also joined by two smaller knitting-themed posters here in the main bath. The roomy Zuma soaking tub, beautiful cararra marble floors, and wall hue (Chelsea Gray by Benjamin Moore) all help to maintain its sophistication. |

| In lieu of a bench at the foot of the bed, a pair of leather club chairs inherited from her mother, provide an invitation to lounge before snoozing. The modern canopy bed is topped with luxurious linens and bordered by two Baker bombe chests — the perfect balance of modern and eclectic. A super plush rug provides soft stepping underfoot and polishes off the space with a touch of femininity. |

Thanks for all the wonderfully kind comments about our space. For those of you who don't know, we sold that apartment and are just finishing a renovation on a shaker style homestead with modern loft like elements (like poured white concrete floors!)
