Some of these "mobiles" are more rightly called decorative elements. The purpose of the mobile is to visually interest the child and help in the development of color and depth perception. If the mobile is too far from the crib, out of line of sight of the crib, or not actually able to move, then they are of no use to a baby, who is fairly near-sighted in the first few months of life.
Also, some look sharp... the moustache one is definitely a choking/poking hazard. If they do manage pull it down, or it falls down, it shouldn't be something that could hurt the kid (one would think).
