I'm a blogger at http://www.kitchencorners.com obsessed with food and design. I'm also a mother of 2 (under the age of 5) and a lover of all things travel.
In November my husband and I welcome our new addition. As a foodie mom, I feel like having the right high chair is really important. Here are a few that I like, from all different styles and all different price ranges. If there are any high chairs you rave about, I would love to know. — Damaris from Kitchen Corners
These are big and also pretty expensive chairs. However, from the the reviews I've read, they are awesome. They are very sturdy and safe, and they are the type of chair that changes to fit your child's needs.
These chairs are great. They look like basic restaurant chairs. They're not very sturdy or the most comfortable, but they come at a good price and are easy to clean.
I love this travel chair because it folds up small. It's perfect if you're traveling on a plane or if you need something small enough to carry around in your purse.
This is a great chair if you have space. It changes with your child so that it can be a high chair or a regular chair and play table for when your child is older.
pursue The link for the East Coast High Chair is for a store in the UK. If you want to find the high chair in USA, look for-- Primo Poppy Plus Commercial High Chair It seems to be the same convertible chair.
mimiddx3 The classic wood highchairs that they use in restaurants are dangerous! They turn the chair upside-down to put a carrier seat in, but that makes a small base on the floor. If you have an active baby, the highchair will tip over and the chair falls on the baby!! This happened to us, we will not put our child in this again.
Anna_Katrin Strauss You didn't include my favorite, low-budget but easy to clean and general best highchair ever: the ANTILOP from IKEA. Everyone I know who has tried it swears by it, you can remove the tray and legs to make it smaller for storage, and it's only $25!
k8saw The Peg Prego Highchair is a disaster to clean, be prepared to use your toothbrush to get into all the gaps! For this reason I purchased the oxo tot sprout for baby #2.
cwrigh01 We have the Boon Flair in lime green, and it's a terrific chair. It can roll (the wheels are easy to lock), is height-adjustable, easy to clean, and roomy enough to be used until a booster chair is called for. It's a big on the large side, but that hasn't been a problem for our small house.
It may seem pricey, but I figure it is unique enough that a well-cared for model will command a high enough price on Craigslist to allow for a little splurge on the front-end.
Susie Q Design Studio I used a small molded plastic chair that strapped onto my own kitchen chair. The seat slid out and was adjustable for about three heights as my children grew and a tray that had a one hand removal clasp. I could take it off and hide it in a closet. I could put every piece in the dishwasher so the straps and pieces would be bleached and I wouldn't have to scrub anything. The thought of cleaning most of those chairs shown looks like a nightmare to me. I say look for something small and easy to clean! You will be grateful when you have one less thing to clean goo and crumbs out of.
mmsalg Definitely some cool designs for the modern baby.Personally, I love the simple design of the black Bloom chair or this wooden one below. If you like the traditional style, one you can pass through the generations and want to have one made for you, consider this option http://custm.co/hz/75. Thanks Houzz.
Yes I should have included the ikea chair you are so right.
