1. Bench seat. Whether you need to drop your bag, put your shoes on or take a breather from the day, a bench is the perfect piece of furniture for any foyer. Find a great-looking bench at your nearby flea market or antiques store, then paint it and reupholster it for maximum style.

2. Foyer console. Paint a console from your local thrift store, and you have a catchall for all your keys, mail and cell phones as soon as you enter the house. Add a couple of dashing table lamps to finish the look.
3. Table volume. If you are fortunate to have a large foyer, a beautifully centered focal table will add elegance and grace. Look at the classic wainscoting applied to these walls too — it's an easy way to carry a look around the entire space.
