This sleeping loft for guests is part of a converted garage in San Francisco. It looks out over the homeowner's office and a small living space.

Lofts don't have to fling you sky high. This one is just high enough to make good use of space with a built-in dresser and elevate the bed to a primary position.

Another low platform with built-in drawers. Close the simple orange curtain, and this sleeping platform feels like a separate room.
Another adorable cabin loft.

This is an actual loft bedroom in an actual loft in Chelsea (Manhattan). It's completely visually private, but its walls are open to the rest of the living space. Everything in white makes it feel cloudlike.

This tiny loft bedroom sits above the tiny kitchen in a converted garage. Its outer walls are cabinets. Looking at the area from below, you'd have no idea it was there.
The design I am working on required a cut out of the floor to reduce the square footage of the loft by 6 square feet ;^) It seemed terrible to have to pay to reduce square footage, but it is easier/cheaper to meet the building code before the inspector shows up at the site.
what can anyone suggest?
