tongue & groove walls: “I wanted to lighten things up a lot with white paint and new wood floors, and give it a cozy cottage feel — white boards achieve that look instantly,” Gabrielson says. The tongue and groove boards are 1 inch by 6 inches; she faced the back side of the boards out for a more rustic look and spaced them out using nickels in between each board. Next the boards were whitewashed with Benjamin Moore’s White Dove, as were other finishes in the room, including brick and trim.
