maple floors
The floors are character grade maple with a matte clear coat finish. The planks are 3,4,5" mix. I hope this helps! -Andrew Melaragno October 17, 2011 at 4:56am Like Report outeast that does help thank you!! when you say character grade is that a step up from the grade with knots etc? also - do you worry that it will yellow? i love the light floor with the stone on the walls :) October 17, 2011 at 6:08am Like PRO Report Andrew Melaragno Character grade can be a combination of #1 common with some #2 mixed in....it depends on the supplier. #2 is the grade with the heavy knots etc. Select would be free of knots and color variations. Some of the newer finishes claim not to yellow so we are at the mercy of the manufacturer on that. October 17, 2011 at 6:28am Like

The acid brings out the greys in the maple and mossy green. I love it. September 29, 2013 at 8:23am Like Report Tim Melander I have never heard of that technique, but very interesting. Thank you for sharing!
