Houzz Interview: Kasey's Charming Illinois home
A couple of months ago, we've asked you to recommend home design bloggers for the Houzz interview series.
Liza40 recommended Lola B's and we are so happy she did. Kasey from Lola B's has a beautiful home as well as a very unique writing style which I personally love. In her blog, Kasey writes "... I don't have a maid but i dream of one often... I also long to go to France but since that's out of the question...feel free to donate to my France fund. I live off of skinny vanilla latte's and am constantly working on losing 5 lbs.". Well, Kasey's dream is coming true as she is about to visit France in a few days. Just before she leaves, we had a chance to chat with her and ask her some questions about her charming 100 years old Illinois home.
I'm very happy to introduce you today to Kasey and her wonderful blog Lola B's.
Your "first meeting" with your house to be
We moved here to Illinois almost three years ago from Colorado. When we found out that we were moving to the midwest...I knew I had to have old and charming.
I found this house on historic homes dot com....and the minute I walked in...I knew it was meant to be.
This home is a 100 year old farmhouse style home with original hardwoods thoughout the entire home.
The closet alone was what sold me our home.
How many old homes have a massive walk in closet...and with linen enveloped walls...I was sold.
The first step of your remodeling process
We really have not done much in the way of renovations....we enclosed the sunroom...piped in venting so it is heated in the winter and has ac in the summer. We painted the wood floors white and the wood paneling a color called faded silk by Ralph Lauren.
I am a Latte drinking ...Paris dreaming mom of three kids....and finally get to go to France in less then 4 weeks.
Your favorite style and colors
My style is what I termed...AnthropoloChic. It's a bit of French tied in to cottage with a hint of Anthropologie inspired bits and pieces.
I love grey's...creams....
I love to shop flea markets...and Ikea.
A spot in your house that makes you very happy/proud
Other then my closet.....my sunroom makes me smile.
I can sit all day in there reading. to my children....or just relaxing while they are in school.
I call it my daydream room.
Your next house project
If we decide to stay put here....our kitchen will be our next big project. It's time to open her up and expose her full glory.
We haven't really done much in the "remodelling phase"...but I am constantly re-arranging and painting.
5 things that houzz readers need to know about you and your blog
My blog is my place to write....I write about my life with my kids....or style...and just life in general.
I've been truly blessed by the blogging world.....my readers are the best and keep my spirits lifted when I'm having a bad mom day...or by encouraging me when I need help.
Last but not least: as a houzz friend, Kasey has chosen a Target giveaway gift card to one of the lucky readers that will share their thoughts about her house and interview.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home Kasey and enjoy your trip to France!
For your chance to win the $50 Target gift card selected by Kasey, comment on this interview by Sunday, March 28, at 5pm EST.

Thank you Kasey for sharing your home with all us Houzz readers! I also live in a century old farmhouse in East TN. We are REmodeling it but it is not a historical remodel. We are just trying to bring parts of the home into the 21st century while keeping as true to the original architecture as we possibly can. You are so talented and it has been a pleasure to view pics of your home. I am sure that I will find lots of inspiration from your home!

WoW! Is all I can say!
My favorite of all of the ideas was using a stick to hang curtains on. I have plenty of saplings in my yard that I could use for that. :)
Beautiful house and beautiful blog - fantastic photography.
