BUTCHER BLOCK
There is no stain. It has been sealed with a mixture of wax and mineral oil from the Real Milk Paint Company: http://www.realmilkpaint.com/soapstone-sealer-wax.html. It is reclaimed salvaged floor joists. it is 100+ yr old floor taken out of a house in Pa. You can cut on it but I always recommend usin cutting boards to preserve the appearance of the surface and minimize how often you need to sand it down.
