1608 W. 8TH APARTMENT AESTHETIC/DESIGN IDEAS
the floor to ceiling windows. lots of light. windows span the whole side of the structure.
we like the idea of utilizing window sills, expanding them into the "living space" room some 11 - 12 inches to create a small "sitting ledge".
we LOVE window seats.
a great example of a window sill that is also a seat.
we like the idea of using wall space in our structure for book shelves. if it has a second floor loft, maybe the loft wall overlooking the downstairs is also a half-wall book shelf (on the inside of the room)?
forget the stonework. i picked this image because it shows a covered walkway with an OPEN "half-wall". you can step THRU it from the side or walk thru it along it's natural path.
just picked this to note the way the walkway roof intersects the secondary structure's roof
note the walkway attachment/design.
dislike the round look but the idea is useful. kitchenette style eating table that could fold away or pull out of a wall. space saver.
could the Southeast corner of our apartment look like this? in other words, have the windows turn the corner...
we like the idea of saving space by using pocket doors. these pocket doors are actually the precise style we'd be looking for...5 panel pocket doors.
could a bathroom wall be built deep enough to accommodate a built-in medicine cabinet that had shelves as in this photo?
another, better, better example of a kitchen table that can fold away thus saving space.
is there space in any design for a stackable washer/dryer?
recognizing that features like these may increase cost, is there room in the budget to add something like this to create additional kitchen counter space.
this will be a must. we will need our kitchen trash to be stored away and not out....anticipating that floor space in the kitchen will be at a high premium.
