Treat Kids' Creations Like Any Other Art in the Home
Decorating with children's art in a home adds a wonderful touch of whimsy and down-to-earth personality. The art can be your own children's, or a special piece done by a niece, nephew or grandchild. The days of temporarily hanging these masterpieces on the refrigerator has evolved to treating this art like any other image displayed in the home, often being appropriately framed, with the location to display it carefully chosen.

One of the most delightful examples of using children's art in decor is this one by Paige of the blog Simple Thoughts. The colors are so fresh and sweet, and the collection of simple frames work well together. But I think the best aspect is the addition of two cut-out figures hung within the mix.

samanthastevens Kids love to see that their artwork is valued enough to be displayed but these ideas are so much nicer than simply taping pictures to the fridge door! I especially love the first picture.

newmouse My method certainly wasn't Houzz-worthy but it worked. When my kids were young, we lived in a home with really unattractive kitchen wallpaper. I just taped the art directly onto the wallpaper, eventually covering most of one wall with a rotating gallery. The funny thing was that when we put the house on the market and took down all the art, the ugly wallpaper was still perfectly intact.

Seattle Staged To Sell I am totally with you on this. I have my daughters art works all over my house, framed and displayed. They are the most treasured pieces in my house.

mom2reese Great spaces! I use clipboards for my girls' artwork. I just clip new pictures on top of old ones as they come in.

Sassy Sunshine mom2reese - how did you attach those clipboards? I find that the 3m stuff that isn't supposed to be permanent does permanently affect your walls when you take it off.

hunan97 Make placemats by laminating. Have the child write a description on the back that will be visable from the reverse side & you have samples of their hadnwriting too.
