When my glue gun appears, my husband shakes his head. "What next?" he asks (but always seems to be interested in the latest project). I ignore his mockery, because I know later this same man will sing my praises and tell all his little friends that his wife is a crafty goddess.
Grosgrain ribbon in an assortment of colors is a mainstay in my craft box. I've used it as banding on my daughter's curtain panels, embellished a lampshade, pillows, and even used it to create fun hair barrettes, too! 2-inch grosgrain ribbon provides an cost effective accent for top treatments and drapery panels. Apply trim using a glue gun, fabric glue, or fusible web.
I trimmed a plain white lampshade with a thin band of polka dot ribbon trim in my daughter's room. It introduces another pattern into the scheme without making the room feel too busy.
Trim can be used no matter the decorating style. In this French Provencal bath, ribbon is used as a border at the hem, and to tie the billowy curtains to fluted rods.
