50 Clever Screen Selections for Shooting TV Rooms
Houzz Contributor. Hi There! I currently live in a 1920s cottage in Atlanta that I'll describe as "collected."
I got into design via Landscape Architecture, which I studied at the University of Virginia. I've been writing about design online for quite a few years over at Hatch: The Design Public Blog.

A few weeks ago, I wrote an ideabook about styling interior photographs and I mentioned that what's on the television screen can make a difference. Let's face it, a plain old set that's turned off is not usually the most attractive piece in a room, so why not use it to your advantage? Here's what some of the Houzz designers and photographers have chosen to screen lately.

What's your FAVORITE Chris Rock quote?
>>This one just makes me think of my second-favorite Chris Rock quote "That tiger didn't go crazy, that tiger went tiger!"
This is a great post as always Becky! I'd like to expand this topic further by saying that styling for a photo is just the tip of the iceberg for incorporating your tv into your decor. Personally, I think the tv is a great opportunity for continually evolving art as opposed to a single static painting. One artist who has created art for your television is Brian Eno. Check out his dvd, "77 Million Paintings". The colors and patterns continually and slowly evolve and shift.
Then there is also a website at www.ambiancevisuals.com where they have lots of dvd's with long playing beautiful visuals of all types of themes. Another great idea for a blog -- dontcha think?
With so many developers building homes with the decor-killing niche above the fireplace for the tv -- am I the only one who just despises this location for a tv? -- it helps to see the tv as a place for art. Ideally, I'd LOVE to have a visual that could just sort of endlessly evolve -- a little like those ethereal screen savers for computers. It's probably already been done. I just haven't found it yet.
The brightly checkered bed/viewing area made me laugh... the ultimate sports nap could happen there!!! and the bat cave OMG!!!
GREAT IDEA BOOK! I certainly need to review whats on my screen... but don't they have to rotate pictures so they don't burn an image on the screen or is that an old wives tale??
