Its akin to dog food treats that are made to look like bones as if a dog knows a dog shaped treat is nicer. Its made to look like a bone to appeal to the owner. Round or square treats taste the same as the one made to look like a bone.

Yes, a dog doesn't care if a treat is square or bone shaped! But some people take pleasure in the cuteness of the bone shape!

As too the furniture being too "cold" and expensive. I agree that the furniture is expensive, but can easily be used as inspiration. I have a particular fondness for P'kolino and Oeuf, I don't see them as cold. If I had the money I'd have a house full of their stuff. But I don't, so I add them to my ideabooks and lust over them. In the meantime, I surf over to the Ikea and Target websites and look for more affordable alternatives.
